This was the first 'swim' of this summer. At first, she was a little apprehensive but she quickly remembered how much she enjoys being in the water. Especially with her BFF, her daddy. Next step is swimming lessons. These were taking w/the continuous feature on the camera so look at em quickly (I know there are too many). The videos I took won't load for some reason :(.

Drinks w/the girls!
Madison and I had a girls night out with one of my BFFs Rey. Maddie hasn't seen Rey for almost a year and was shy at first but definitely came around once Rey started feeding her those gummy candy er...vitamins. I wish I had gotten more pics but it was so fun to catch up w/a close friend! Next time, Maddie's staying home so mommy can have more than one drink ;)

Beach Fun
We spent all day Saturday at the beach. It was pretty quiet because there was a fatal Great White attack (first one in 50 years) 10 miles south of us (YIKES!!!). But, this was the first time this year we went down there and Maddie really enjoyed herself! We pretty much stayed out of the water. ;)
Where's Maddie?

This was right BEFORE Maddie realized she could smash the sandcastle.

Sweet tooth!
We gave Madison her very own ice cream cone for the first time. She didn't like it very much.
She was like this for the first five minutes or so :)

She's so dainty! ;)

Round and Round she goes
Jon has started piling up all of the pieces to Maddie's puzzles on the table and letting her complete all the puzzles. He says that one puzzle is just too easy for her now. I think he also enjoys the added benefit that it allows him to watch Cubs baseball in peace for a few extra minutes. She's a smarty pants though!

The Case of the Yummy Shoe
It's been over a month since this happened. But, I am just now feeling up to writing about it. ;). We got Madison a brand new pair of See Kai Runs right before Easter. They were $42 which is absolutely outrageous for a pair of kids shoes but she loved them and we had looked everywhere else and hadn't found anything. The very next weekend, I came downstairs to find this:
the evidence
the suspect
the victim
I don't think I've ever been so mad. Out of desperation, I emailed SeeKaiRun asking them if I could purchase just one size 6 left Ashley Maija (the name of the shoe). The next day I received an email saying that I was in luck and that they had one lone left shoe in their warehouse. They would send it off to me immediately free of charge. Isn't that amazing? We are so pleased. We are super careful with these shoes now. Jake is not allowed anywhere near them. :)
All is right in the world! :)

Field Trips!
Maddie loves going to the zoo and the beach especially when her 'boyfriends' come too! Here are a few pics from some of our recent field trips.
